This is becoming a place we love to hit when near Washington, N.C. - on the back road just before the bridge to Washington Park, sits Backwater Jack's! Just as the name implies, it's on the backside of the Pamlico Sound, adjacent to kayak rentals and boat ramps! You just can't get much more laid-back (inside or outside) it is reminiscent of Key West or a Jimmy Buffet song! Kids/adults, anyone is welcome to screened-in seating or air conditioned areas upstairs and down! Food is great - love their shrimp tacos and sweet potato fries. Great home made aioli, slaw and black bean salad! Great place to kick back, enjoy a leisurely meal or quick snack and cool drink with friends and family!
